Elena Jakimovska Petrovska began her career in May 1995 as an external associate of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In 1996 she was employed as an associate in the SEC, and continues upward in the hierarchy of the SEC at the times of the creation of Macedonian capital market, up to the position of Director of the SEC personnel in 2004.
In May 2005, she left SEC after being elected as a member of the Board of Directors of Macedonian Stock Exchange AD Skopje. In June 2005 she started the appointment as an Executive Director of the Macedonian Stock Exchange with the following responsibilities:
• trading and surveillance over the trading on the MSE
• information system and technical support;
• acceptance and monitoring the operations of the MSE members.
In February 2012, Elena was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Securities Depository AD Skopje, for which resignation from the Board function in MSE followed (mandatory according to the national law). After being granted approval from the SEC, from June 2012 Elena also took over the position of Executive Director of the Central Securities Depository AD Skopje, and is currently running in her second term.
