Marieangela Economopoulou is Head of Access & External Engagement for Southeast Europe at UCB, where she leads the development and execution of market access and external affairs strategies across the South East Europe region. With over 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and MedTech sectors, Marieangela is recognized for combining strategic insight with strong people leadership. She has a proven track record in shaping healthcare policy, accelerating patient access to innovation, and building trusted partnerships with governments, payers, and patient organizations. Prior to joining UCB, she served as Head of External Affairs & Patient Value Access at Takeda for Greece, Cyprus, and Malta. She has also held senior roles at the PhRMA Innovation Forum Greece as General Manager & Board Member and at Medtronic Hellas as Head of External Affairs & Market Access. Marieangela holds a PhD in Biology and an MBA, bringing together deep scientific expertise with business acumen to drive sustainable, patient-centric solutions.
