Garth has worked for almost two decades in public sector management, primarily Information Technology roles. He moved to Medicare Australia in 2007 to deliver the Healthcare Identifier system which was the start of his journey in Digital Health one which has remained a constant link in his roles since then. Garth has also managed the Department of Human Services (DHS) Data Warehouse and was the strategic and operation manager for Health identity services whilst at DHS.
Garth moved to the Australian Digital Health Agency when it was created in 2016 and was responsible for the My Health Record, National Authentication Service for Health, Healthcare Identifier and Clinical Information products. This was a particularly busy time whilst undertaking the national Opt out program of My Health Record.
Garth has recently moved to the Department of Health in the role of Assistant Secretary of Aged Care Business Systems managing My Aged Care and boarder Aged Care IT systems. Having worked across most of the Commonwealth Health sector his passion is to create a more streamlined and connected Health network across all programs.
