Daniel Gregory, Principal Strategist ANZ, TrendAI

Daniel Gregory is Principal Cyber Risk Strategist for ANZ at TrendAI, where he leads the regional Cyber Risk Quantification practice. He works with security and executive teams on a question boards increasingly ask: how do we turn cyber and AI risk into numbers we can actually act on. Before TrendAI, Daniel spent 16 years at Commonwealth Bank as an Architecture and Transformation Executive, running regulatory, GRC and cloud security programmes across Basel, AML/CTF and the Australian Privacy Principles, where defensible, quantified risk was not optional. He focuses on making cyber and AI risk measurable, defensible and useful for boards, executives and accountable authorities.

Appearances:

Day 1 @ 12:00

How much risk did we actually reduce? Quantifying cyber and AI exposure in government

  • Why Executives and ERC keep asking the question their current reporting can't answer: how much risk are we carrying, and are we comfortable accepting it
  • In a world where AI is accelerating threats from nation states and criminal actors, annual point-in-time risk snapshots are no longer enough: continuous quantification needs to become the baseline
  • How continuous, quantified cyber risk turns CVEs, alerts and audit findings into live, dollar-based decisions that move as your environment changes, mapped to Essential Eight, ISM and SOCI obligations
