Ed has forty-five years’ experience in international business.  This includes many executive positions, directorships and advisory roles.  

He joined Ciena in 2011 and served as Ciena’s General Manager of Submarine Systems from 2011 to 2016.  In that period, Ciena expanded its terrestrial network business into the submarine segment and introduced technology and innovation which continue to benefit the industry today.  Since then, he continued to serve as a senior advisor to the company until 2023.  

Prior to Ciena, he was employed for seventeen years as an Officer of FLAG Telecom, including eight years as a Member of the Board.
