Junaid has over 16 years of industrial experience and is technology leader for innovation, development and technical operations of internet-scale software systems, products and platforms.    He specializes in defining technology strategy, distributed system architecture design and implementations, performance, security, infrastructure, public and hybrid cloud solutions, IoT (Internet of Things), data science, machine learning, computer vision, and big data analytics technologies for hyperscale organizations.   He established the foundations and technology arm for multiple organizations, from amongst the most successful technology companies in the MENA region; namely, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Careem (an Uber subsidiary), Fetchr and Noon.   Previously, Junaid cofounded Lever Systems, a company specializing in IoT and cloud-centric Solutions based in Seattle, USA that was further acquired for its Healthcare Platform in operation at the NHS (National Health Service), UK.   Junaid has the honor of building the world’s largest automated biometric recognition system, has spearheaded the development and roll out of smart border management systems for multiple international airports and has designed smart citizen platforms worldwide.   He holds an MSc. in Computer Engineering and a BS. (Hons) degree in Computer Science.   Currently, Junaid works as a Senior Vice President of Engineering & Technology at Noon where he crafts and operates the digital landscape of the company and helps innovate their next generation of technology for supply chain and risk management.   He also acts as a senior advisor and consultant to large corporates, governments and passionately enjoys advising SME’s and startups.
