Peter Munro, General Manager Infrastructure, Metro Trains Melbourne

Peter specialises in turnarounds of mature businesses with large unionised workforces, organisational change and railway business management, and is currently the Director of Operations at Metro Trains Melbourne's.

Prior to this, Peter was responsible for delivery of the rail infrastructure maintenance & renewals program of $240m pa with a workforce exceeding 700, delivering major reform with strong results in cost reduction, productivity improvement, employee engagement and injury reduction. 

Peter has also worked with a Private Equity owned plant business with revenues of $100m across Western Australia, as well as managed Downer Group’s rail infrastructure business for Western Australia, where he implemented a profitable market entry strategy into the BHP’s Pilbara mining operations. In addition, Peter led a $60m pa maintenance alliance across Victoria & New South Wales with Downer for ARTC.

Peter has completed an Executive MBA at Melbourne Business School, a MSc in Railway Systems Engineering & Integration in Birmingham, UK, as well as Bachelor of Commerce (Economics & Business Law) & Bachelor of Engineering.
