Lena Erixon has held a range of very senior positions; Deputy Director-General for the Swedish National Road Administration, Director-General for the Swedish National Road Administration, and Director-General for the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration.
Lena Erixon has a degree in Public Administration from Stockholm University with a concentration in Economics and Finance. Following her graduation Lena Erixon has passed examination in a number of courses in economics and management, among others at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg and the MiL leadership Institute.
She started her career working within the domain of economics and finance. She has held a series of senior positions within the management of municipalities in the greater Stockholm area as well as the central organisation for municipalities and regions throughout Sweden. In this context she has held a position at the Ministry of Finance in Sweden.
Lena Erixon has held a number of senior positions within the Swedish National Road Administration and The Swedish Transport Administration, apart from Finance also within the domain of Market and Planning.
She has been a member of the board of directors and advisory councils for a wide range of organisations notably the Advisory Council of the County Administrative Board in Dalecarlia, the Swedish Institute for Quality, and the Financial Management and Controller Council at the Swedish National Financial Management Authority. She has been assigned to a number of reviews commissioned by the Swedish Government, and she has been a board member of a number of public companies within the transport sector, as well as Chairman of the steering board for European Defence Agency [NAD EDA] and chairman for Arbetsförmedlingen [Swedish Employment Administration].
Apart from her current position as Director-General for Trafikverket, Lena Erixon serves as member in The World Road Association (PIARC), chairman for Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR), vice president of European Rail Infrastructure Managers (EIM), member of Platform of Rail Infrastructure Managers in Europé (PRIME) and chairman for The Nordic Road Association (NVF).
