Jan van der Heide | Sales and Business Development

Jan van der Heide, Sales and Business Development, PILZ

After my study, Industrial Automation (IA) - HTS Utrecht in 2001, I started my career at Siemens but switched to Pilz in 2002. At Pilz, I started as a technical support engineer to help clients with technical questions from sensor to PLC technology. In the coming eight years I was responsible as an outside sales engineer for the Northern part of The Netherlands serving the automotive, harbor, food, pharma and many more industries. In 2013 and together with other European colleges, we investigated the rail branch for our local country. I was trained by TÜV and certified as Functional Safety Engineer (FSE), Certified Machine Safety Expert (CMSE©) by Pilz and I became am a member of the IRSE. Our office became a member of the Dutch society RailForum. Currently, I work with ProRail for innovative projects like EULYNX, and with the NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen, rail operator) at the maintenance center Watergraafsmeer.
As a sales manager for the Business Unit rail and Business development manager for our R&D division, I am currently responsible for developing Railway automation solutions and local railway clients.
Our vision “We automate Railway Solutions Safe and Easy”.
