Geoff Cross, Vice President,Planning and Policy, TransLink Vancouver

Geoff Cross is the Vice-President of Planning and Policy at TransLink in Metro Vancouver. TransLink is unique among North American transit agencies in that it has a broad mandate for managing the movement of people and goods across the regional network. This remit encompasses the planning, funding, and operating of transit as well as major roads, bridges, and cycling at the regional level. TransLink in collaboration with municipal partners have been at the forefront of transport policy and planning since TransLink’s creation in 1998. Since that time, Metro Vancouver has been a transportation outlier in North America, with wide-spread transit oriented development and unmatched ridership growth, when most regions are experiencing flat or declining demand. Geoff’s team has been responsible for developing the Region’s Long-term Strategy and the 2014 Mayors’ Vision which is the blue print for investment and management of the system. With $9 Billion of multimodal expansion green-lighted in the last two years, Metro Vancouver is in the midst of unparalleled multimodal investments to meet the shifting needs of a rapidly growing region. Geoff’s Division also leads other policy initiatives such as the Regional Goods Movement Strategy, Mobility and Fare Pricing and New Mobility Services. Geoff has a BA in Economics and an MA in Planning.
