Dr. Filip Kitanoski, MBA leads the Rail Systems Research at Virtual Vehicle and is a member of the Governing Board of the Shit2Rail Joint Undertaking. Filip is an experienced executive living at the crossroad of business and technology with a broad background covering strategic innovation and entrepreneurship, product management, product design and manufacturing. He received his master degree in mechanical engineering from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria and the doctoral degree in technical sciences from Graz University of Technology, Austria in 2005 and 2010, respectively. He also holds an Executive MBA degree from Vienna University of Economics and Business. Filip has gathered his R&I experience both in academia and industry in the fields of virtual system design and control for passenger & commercial vehicles, worked as a product manager in the transport temperature control industry as well for a supplier of the rail industries. Since 2017 he is head of Department of Rail Systems Research & Road Safety at Virtual Vehicle Research Centre in Graz.
