Lineas

Since February 1 2011, Geert Pauwels was nominated CEO of Lineas (under the name of B Logistics). At that moment the company became operational as an autonomous rail freight operator, 100% part of the national railway operator SNCB. In the meantime Lineas’ main shareholder is a private equity fund, Argos Soditic. As one of the largest European private rail freight operators, Lineas has the ambition to speed up the modal shift towards rail. 

Geert Pauwels leads this group of companies de facto since 2008. Before joining the SNCB group, Geert worked at McKinsey, where he advised CEO’s during the restructuring of multinational companies in the logistics, pharmaceutical and telecom sectors in different locations in the US, Asia and Europe. 

Geert Pauwels (°1974) holds a master in Applied Economics Sciences (UFSI Antwerp) and a master in international business (ESC Grenoble). Geert is married and has two young children. He likes to travel and is an experienced marathon runner.
