Zarifah Reed, Medical Director, Sentinext Therapeutics

Zarifah Reed trained as a pediatrician and public health specialist in Baltimore, USA, and has been working in clinical trials and vaccine development since 2000. She currently represents Sentinext Therapeutics, a Malaysian-based biotechnology company developing vaccines against hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), polio, and dengue, as the Medical Director. Prior to Sentinext, she has worked at the Initiative for Vaccine Research (IVR), World Health Organization, in Geneva on malaria vaccines and capacity building in the clinical trials and ethics in emerging economies and resource-poor countries and subsequently in research and public health response to emerging infections diseases in the Southeast Asian region for the REDI (Regional Emerging Infectious Diseases Center) in Singapore.
of several guidance and training documents including Guideline for Clinical Management of Avian Influenza for the Ministry of Health of Indonesia, and Respiratory Infection Control in Health Care Facilities in collaboration with WHO and US CDC.
