Gertrud Morlock, Full Professor, Justus Liebig University Giessen

Gertrud Morlock holds the Chair of Food Science at the Justus Liebig University Giessen in Germany. She is also the Director of the associated TransMIT Center of Effect-Directed Analysis. She was awarded the Kurt Täufel Prize of the German Society for Food Chemistry, the Father of Stevia Award of the World Stevia Organization, and the Csaba Horváth Memorial Award of the Hungarian Society for Separation Sciences and Connecticut Separation Science Council. She was recently listed among the 0.003% (position #8) highly Ranked Scholars™ in Chromatography. Since 2006 she has authored more than 230 peer-reviewed original research papers, 80 further scientific papers, 3 patents, 17 book chapters, 275 poster and 330 oral presentations, conducted more than 70 workshops, and is highly active in scientific committees. She has more than 100 collaborations around the globe and many scientific projects with international industries, and is active in various committees.

2LabsToGo-The future is sustainable, portable and miniaturised

The open-source all-in-one 2LabsToGo system comprises and consolidates all analytical steps of two fully equipped laboratories (planar chromatography lab and bioassay lab). for the detection of beneficial or hazardous compounds in complex samples.

As miniaturized Lean Lab of the Future, it has a low ecological (low material and power consumption) and meets all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. It is compact (0.055 m3) and portable (7 kg) to be used with high work efficiency in labs, atline or in the field (with solar panels). As premiere, the 2LabsToGo system is do-it-yourself built in a workshop in Giessen, 2.-7.09.2024.
