Thomas Wiese serves Roche in the role of a Principal Medical Director and Clinical Expert Team Leader. He is a board certified Pediatric Psychiatrist with 7 years of experience in clinical practice, clinical research and 6 years in pharmaceutical clinical drug development. Thomas is also trained psychotherapist holding degrees in cognitive behavioral as well as system and family psychotherapy. His drug development expertise focuses on neuroscience and rare diseases where he has supported and led programs in all stages of clinical development in a range of indications (Autism, Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Acute Ischemic Stroke). Thomas is currently leading the clinical development team for a phase 2 Autism and Angelman program and is passionate about clinical trial innovation. Examples of current projects include development of personalized clinical outcome measures, biomarker based proof of mechanism design as well as clinical trial decentralization.
