Jakub Tomala, Assistant Research Professor, John Hopkins University

Dr. Jakub Tomala earned his Master Science degree and Ph.D., both in Immunology, at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine, in 2018, Dr. Tomala became senior researcher in the Laboratory of Biomolecular Recognition at Institute of Biotechnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences at BIOCEV, Czech Republic, followed by his transition in 2023 back to Johns Hopkins University, Whiting School of Engineering, as the Assistant Research Professor in Spangler Lab in the Translational Tissue Engineering Center at the School of Medicine. His focus is mainly in engineering and further studying immune molecules such as cytokines and antibodies for targeted treatment of diseases such as cancer and autoimmune disorders.
