SonoBac, Inc

SonoBac is a recent spinout from UCSD and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and is building a platform to increase biomanufacturing titers across multiple model organisms. Started by Aditya Vasan and Uri Magaram, former PhD students with expertise in mechanical engineering and neuroscience, SonoBac’s unique approach uses sonogenetics, a technique that combines ultrasound and genetic engineering to control aspects of cellular activity. Their scalable platform starts with a high throughput screen provided as a service followed by implementation of sonogenetic technology at scale. SonoBac is committed to improving biomanufacturing production titers and is looking to partner with drug developers to implement sonogenetics technology.
