New for 2025

The Festival of Biologics brings you the latest developments across the entire value chain of the biologics industry, and is always looking to bring new content each year to deliver on this. In 2025, we are proud to introduce and expand on the following sessions.

GENOMICS

Building on the introduction of gene therapy, the Festival of Biologics brings you a new track examining the role of genomics in disease treatment and therapeutic development. Join our speakers for a dive into functional and structural genomics, sequencing technologies, gene editing tools, and how these apply to the engineering of next generation immunotherapies.

DIAGNOSTICS

Diagnostic devices, technologies and approaches are a vital part of the drug development cycle, with different versions being used at all stages from discovery, through development to clinical trials. This year, a dedicated Companion Diagnostics track will explore advances in matching patients to therapeutics, examining personalised medicine, biomarker analysis and in vivo diagnostic techniques. Elsewhere on the agenda speakers will present on diagnostic devices including wearables in clinical trials, the characterisation of early stage therapeutic proteins, and the implementation of molecular diagnostics for pharmacogenomics.

EXPANDED FOCUS ON AUTOIMMUNE DISORDERS & INFLAMMATION

Introduced in 2024, the dedicated track on Autoimmune Disorders & Inflammation returns to cover these key disease areas in an expanded double session. Presentations will explore the development of antibody, cell and immuno-therapies, target selection and mechanisms of action, and the difficulty of treating fibrosis.

CUTTING EDGE BIOPROCESSING TECHNOLOGIES

With the COVID-19 pandemic bringing into focus new modalities and technologies, this year we will explore its impact on the bioprocessing space. Alongside mammalian and bacterial cell lines, the cell line development and culture sessions will expand to cover plasmid production and solid phase synthesis, with downstream processing also growing to examine enzymatic treatment for peptide production. The legal landscape and IP protection in formulation is also being introduced for 2025.
