Anne-Marie Kilpert, Department Head Smart City Design, Fraunhofer ISE

Anne-Marie Kilpert heads the "Smart City Design" department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Kaiserslautern. Her area of work includes the cooperative development of software solutions for various public service sectors. She supports smart cities across Germany in implementing their digitization strategies, with a particular focus on ensuring the participation of diverse stakeholders. She gained professional experience in the private sector by acquiring funding from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the EU for development projects in rural areas. She and her team are researching how urban digital twins can offer added value to municipalities and how urban data platforms can be introduced in a sustainable manner.
