Connie Kerbst, Superfast Essex Senior Programme Manager, Essex County Council

Connie is a senior programme manager at Essex County Council and leads the Superfast Essex programme, part of the Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) programme working to increase access to superfast broadband nationwide. So far the Superfast Essex programme has enabled 120,000 Essex homes and businesses to access superfast speeds with broadband infrastructure upgrades from network operators Openreach and Gigaclear and further work is currently planned through to 2021. Connie has a passion for technology-driven change, and has a track record in collaboration between the public and private sector and has created and managed successful commercial partnerships in a variety of fields, including digital media, customer services and IT infrastructure. Having trained as a linguist and later as a journalist at the BBC, Connie brings a unique perspective to facilitating communication between technical experts and their generalist customers.
