PolyChord Ltd is a spin-out company from Cambridge University Astrophysics, with know-how and unique techniques which were developed to tackle very big data from outer space. We use cutting-edge data tools to solve real-world problems in infrastructure such as guiding maintenance in rail networks, and reducing cost and improving performance in telecommunications networks. Over 2 years working with the Ministry of Defence, PolyChord have developed the MIDAS tool which helps organisations looking to deploy private 5G and other networks to decide on the optimal placement for transmitters, receivers and sensors. MIDAS helps integrators to design networks that use minimal hardware and power, and provides robustness to hardware failure to better guarantee connectivity.
