Archangel Lightworks is building deployable laser communication systems for the high-volume, space-enabled networks of the future. Archangel's technology extends fibre-like connectivity from terrestrial networks to non-terrestrial and outer space-based networks.

Today, space and terrestrial networks are not well-connected - a current state which results in insecure, insufficient, and vulnerable infrastructure. For example, nearly 3 billion people are unconnected and many more are under-connected.  

At Archangel Lightworks, we are driving down the size, weight, power & cost (SWaP-C) of optical ground equipment to make resilient space-ground laser communications capabilities available and affordable.  

Our initial product, the TERRA-M, is a portable, miniature optical ground station. Compared to radio-based alternatives, the TERRA-M allows more licence-free data to be transferred at higher rates with lower probability of interception or detection. 

The TERRA-M brings deployable, resilient connectivity to wherever it is needed, providing seamless connectivity to help solve some of Earth’s most critical problems from economic inclusion to climate change.
