MoCA®, Multimedia over Coax Alliance
MoCA®, the coax standards for managed broadband networks, lets people work, learn, stream and game over existing coax cables available in homes, apartments, flats, hotels, and buildings worldwide. MoCA® is a global, member-driven, non-profit trade association that creates access and connectivity coax standards for broadband networks. Since its inception MoCA® has developed high-speed connectivity standards that re-use existing coaxial cabling (TV coax cables). MoCA Access™ standards, designed for multi-dwelling units (MDUs) keep pace with FTTB (fiber to the building) data rates, reduce total cost of deployment, and increase deployment velocity as well as provide gigabit and multi-gigabit speeds. MoCA Access™ 2.5 technology standard can provide equitable access to high-speed networking. MoCA member companies consist of global service providers (MSOs, Telco/IPTV), OEM, ODM, and semiconductor companies.
