Connected Britain 2020 Statement on the Covid-19 Coronavirus

Information correct as of Monday 2nd March 2020.
Dear attendees,
Based on global news coverage, as well as inbound questions we have received from some of our exhibitors and attendees, Total Telecom is providing an update on all precautions that Connected Britain is taking in regards to the novel coronavirus, named COVID-19 by the World Health Organization.
Total Telecom is closely monitoring the situation, but following all current advice, the event will continue to take place on 18-19 June at the Business Design Centre in London.
It is important to note that the current risk level to the UK is at moderate.
Of course, the health and safety of our audience is our top priority. We are regularly checking the situation with Public Health England (PHE) and other relevant sources to put preventative measures in place to alleviate concerns.
Here is what we will do onsite to prevent the spread of COVID-19:
  • No handshake/hug/kiss policy: we are respectfully asking all participants to refrain from shaking hands, hugging or kissing as a greeting.
  • Increased cleaning and disinfection across all high-volume touchpoints.
  • Special hand sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the venue – and hand sanitizer will be available at registration and other key event locations.
  • Awareness and training to all event staff on standard personal preventative measures.
  • Public Health England messaging displayed and shared before and during the event.
  • Shared equipment - Microphones, headsets, presentation laptops, clickers to be cleaned between each use.
  • Attendees strongly encouraged to disinfect their hands in the registration area before entering the event.
  • Strict food hygiene rules are already in place, but extra vigilance will be taken at restaurants and catering outlets at the show.
  • Onsite medical support available at the Business Design Centre venue.
Total Telecom will continue to monitor the situation, and take appropriate measures based on developments, and advice of the UK's Chief Medical Officer, PHE and WHO.
If you have recently travelled to a high-risk location ( consult NHS guidelines on the current list of high-risk locations ), and/or are experiencing symptoms of Coronavirus, please do not attend Connected Britain.
The WHO recommends that everyone follow everyday prevention practices:
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
