Ray Bauer, Head of Global Business Strategy, Verizon Business

Ray leads the Domain Advisors group at Verizon which helps Enterprise and Government clients achieve mission critical business outcomes leveraging technology. His organization advises customers in developing transformation plans based on vertical industry use cases and horizontal business functions. Ray’s group has specific business expertise in Healthcare, Media & Entertainment, Manufacturing, Utilities, Finance, and Retail along with practices in Digital Experiences and Securing Networks. Ray's communications industry experience started with CellStar, which was the first nationwide cellular agent for top mobile network service providers across the United States and one of Motorola’s largest global distributors. Ray led business development and sales groups in Houston, Dallas, and then Chicago after the company went public. His division of CellStar was eventually purchased by MCI. Ray later held executive positions with GTE and Qwest. During the start of his Verizon career, he served Enterprise customers in Florida, the Midwest, and later in the Washington DC area working with the Federal Government and state agencies. His Verizon roles have included technical sales leadership for network, cloud, cybersecurity, managed and professional services, application enablement, and responsibility for successfully accelerating Verizon's joint go-to-market sales efforts with key partners. Ray earned a Bachelor degree with a major in Business from Lamar University in Texas and executive leadership certification from the Center for Creative Leadership in San Diego. He currently resides with his family near Annapolis, Maryland and enjoys outdoor activities including volunteering with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
