Catherine Krantz, Area Director for Broadband, Communities Unlimited

Communities Unlimited is a nonprofit community economic development organization that for more than 50 years has worked in partnership alongside rural communities in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Mississippi. Through seven program areas (Lending, Community Infrastructure Development, Community Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, Healthy Foods, Housing, and Broadband), CU currently serves in over 1,000 rural communities. Catherine Krantz is CU's Area Director for Broadband, leading CU’s award-winning broadband program. Her team of broadband technical assistance providers work in some of the least connected communities in America and are currently working with 55 rural communities in 4 states, providing community broadband planning, digital opportunity planning, technical assistance, and implementation support, including pre-deployment utllity mapping. Ms. Krantz has been a rural broadband advocate for over ten years, and is passionate about bringing high-speed internet to all.
