Patricio was born in Santiago de Chile, where he graduated as a Business Engineer from the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences of the University of Chile. He held the position of Executive President and CEO of the LAN Airlines airline where he produced the strongest change experienced by the company to face the economic crisis that the company was going through.   He spearheaded the restructuring process of the company created in 1929 and founded as of January 1, 1984 LAN S.A, which is today LATAM Airlines. This radical transformation gave the expected fruits and the new company began its new stage producing profits from the first day of operations, laying solid foundations for what is today an airline example of efficiency and quality of service worldwide. During his period as CEO of LAN Chile, Patricio was elected President of the International Air Transport Association of Latin America, AITAL, today known as ALTA for a period of 5 years and since 1992, he joined IATA in Latin America first as Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean and was later appointed Regional Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean from Miami. He held that highest position in IATA as the first former CEO of an airline and in his period at the helm of this institution he was a relevant actor in the great transformations that placed commercial aviation in Latin America in a leadership position worldwide. In 2015 he started, as President and Founder, AeroNex LLC, a company that specializes in advising companies, airports and governments on aviation and connectivity matters. He is currently Founder and CEO of Aeronex Cargo, a company specialized in providing airlines with a “Turn Key Cargo Solution” to optimize air cargo handling and sales levels. Under this modality, Aeronex cargo has a long-term contract with JetBlue, one of the 6 most important passenger airlines in the USA. Additionally, Patricio is President of the Chile US Chamber of Commerce and belongs to the Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards of numerous companies. Since March 2020, he has presided over FEBICHAM, the Federation of Binational Chambers of Commerce based in Miami, Florida.
