Mr Charles Martin | General Manager Aviation Gold Coast Airport
Charles joined Gold Coast Airport in April 2008,as General Manager Commercial after a 26 year career with Qantas Airways.
His career with Qantas included Sales and Sales management roles in Melbourne ,Perth ,Sydney and Brisbane as well as senior management posting roles in Bangkok and South Africa.
Returning from South Africa in 2001 ,Charles held the position of General Manager Industry Sales Australia for Qantas based in Sydney and in 2002 took an opportunity to relocate to Qld (again) to the role of Qantas Airport Manager at Cairns before relocating to the Gold Coast as Airport Manager in 2004 ,to head up the Qantas group operations.
Since joining Gold Coast Airport ,Charles has overseen the redevelopment of the Airport Terminal (completed in January 2010) working closely with the key airline stakeholders to ensure the operational and commercial requirements were met and balanced with those of the Airport.
In 2010 Charles was appointed General Manager Aviation ,responsible for the entire aerodrome operations ,airside assets ,Security and aeronautical facilities. In addition ,all airline pricing and airline relationships are held by this role along with Marketing and Business Development responsibility for Gold Coast Airport.
