Mr Campbell Wilson, CEO, Scoot

Campbell, 40, helms the budget airline as its Chief Executive Officer, and also serves on the Company's Board. As CEO, he is responsible for the direction, growth and leadership of the new Airline. Having been with the Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group for more than 15 years, he has held positions overseas and in Head Office. He joined SIA in April 1996 in Auckland and held marketing and sales positions in New Zealand as well as Australia. In 2003, Campbell moved to Head Office and held positions in the Network Revenue Management and Network Planning departments. In 2006, Campbell was appointed Vice President, Canada and was based in Vancouver, where he was heavily involved in re-establishing a formal air service agreement between Singapore and Canada after a 20-year lapse. In 2008, he was appointed General Manager, Hong Kong, overseeing the successful introduction of the first A380 services to the territory in the midst of the global financial crisis. In 2010, he became General Manager, Japan, and was based in Tokyo. During that time, SIA introduced services to a second Tokyo airport, Haneda, inaugurated a second tranche of flights to Kansai airport in Osaka and secured the rights to deploy A380 equipment on the Narita-Los Angeles route. He returned to Singapore in May 2011, a move deferred to ensure the operations in Japan and staff were stable following the Great Kanto earthquake and tsunami, to commence his current role. Campbell was born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand. He is a Singapore Permanent Resident. He has a Master of Commerce (1st Class Honours) in Business Administration from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. Between completing university and joining SIA, Campbell spent a year playing hockey – "badly" in his words – in the UK, and travelling extensively in Europe and North America – backpacking in true low-cost fashion. Since then, he has continued to indulge his passion for travel, including cycling in Provence and Tuscany, and rafting the Grand Canyon with his wife, Tammy. When not travelling or working, he can be found running or eating in hawkers markets.
