Andy Stevenson is the Future Mobility Director for Mott MacDonald Middle East with more than 19 years’ experience in master planning, transportation, and urban development for both the public and private sector. Andy has worked throughout Europe and the Middle East on some of the world’s biggest and most challenging projects and is also a member of the Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (MCIHT). Andy has a strong town planning / urban development background and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Town Planning from the Birmingham School of Planning as well as an MSc (Eng) in Transport Planning and Engineering from the internationally renowned Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds. This urban planning education combined with engineering know how allows Andy the ability to look at a problem or issue holistically with the appreciation of a planner as well as a transport specialist. He has also developed a great understanding of the implementation of alternative modes of transport including bus rapid transit, personal rapid transit, group rapid transit and cable cars to serve major developments. Andy joined Mott MacDonald in 2015 and has worked on projects such as the Abu Dhabi Transport Mobility Management Strategy, Yas Island Strategic Transport Study, Abu Dhabi Bus Masterplan, and RTA Metro Station Enhancements. Andy is currently busy developing Mott MacDonald’s intelligent mobility strategy but moreover offering practical advice on the impact of future mobility to key clients in the region.
