The growing ubiquity of cellular connectivity in Africa, makes it the ideal planning bed for mobile payment solutions. South Africa is currently developing the infrastructure for the NFC(Near-Field Communication) mobile payment solutions, and people are clearly seeing the inconvenience of using their mobile phone for payment. However some might still show reluctance as they have security concerns about what happens if a phone gets lost or stolen.
