Ataur Rahman, Team Lead- USAID's mSTAR Project, FHI 360

Mr. Ataur Rahman is currently leading the USAID’s Mobile Solutions Technical Assistance and Research (mSTAR) project in Bangladesh at FHI 360, which is helping USAID implementing partners to transition from cash to digital payments towards financial inclusion; through awareness raising, technical assistance, dialogue facilitation, and stakeholders’ engagements. Prior to joining USAID’s mSTAR, he was the head of outreach at Dnet for the USAID’s Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action (MAMA) Bangladesh Initiative where he helped to design and implement mobile value added services and pilot the use of mobile money within the program. Before that he worked for the Bangladeshi government’s Access to Information (A2I) program led by Prime Minister’s Office funded by UNDP and the Bangladesh Telecentre Network (BTN), a collision of ICT4D initiatives secretariats; Ataur also has experience advising small and medium enterprises on regulatory processes to develop their business in order to increase competitiveness and increase their access to international markets. He has also worked on regulatory reform and corporate social responsibility best practices in Bangladesh. He completed Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Bangladesh.
