Ahmed Saif Al Mazrouy, General Manager, Majan Electricity Company

I'm Ahmed Saif Khamis from Al-Mazrouy family, born in the City of Rustaq old capital of Sultanate of Oman. I have received education from day one of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos ascended to the thrown in 1970. I have attained bachelor degree from Cardiff University in 1989 as electrical and electronic engineer. Immediately joined Petroleum Development Oman as Petroleum Engineer. As electrical work is my hoppy, I quitted Pretorius engineering and joined the electrical. Projects in electrical field from residential installations to oil facilities and then power systems as coordinator of electrical generation, transmission, distribution and remote control (SCADA). In 2007, I have decided to explore new challenges in the electrical engineering and left PDO and joined newly created electrical distribution company as Assistance General Manager in the company of Mazoon Electricity. In mid 2008, I have been given opportunity to lead Mazoon sister company as Majan Electricity general manager. I have participated in electrical distribution system recovery after gono and phet cyclone at the south east costal side. Since early 1985 at technical colleague in Britan , I'm very much interested on renewable energy especially solar technology. I have presented a number of papers on the same subject and last was a proposal for 1000MW hybrid power station at midland of Oman.
