Kirtida Bhana, Training Executive, Plastics|SA

Education and Career: 
Kirtida qualified with her National Higher Diploma in Polymer Technology in 1995. She has been involved in the local plastics industry since 1989 when she was employed by Megapak on a bursary. She started her career as a lab technician and moved on to being the Quality Assurance Manager. She then worked in marketing and sales for a short while before joining the Plastics Federation as a Trainer from 1999 to 2002. From 2002 to October 2011 she freelanced as a Training and Development Consultant involved in various training initiatives within and outside the plastics industry.  

Since November 2011 she has been head of the Training Division at Plastics SA to now.  She has been invited to speak at two SAPPMA Conferences thus far and the Annual Pipeline Conference in 2016. She was also invited to speak at the Training and Development Africa Conference and Food and Drink Technology Conference in 2016.  She has been an active member of Merseta’s Plastics Chamber since 2011 and has actively coordinated three Merseta Research Projects. She has turned the Training Division around financially through strategic interventions to ensure that all regions are now profitable. In June 2016, she introduced the Annual Innovation Forum for Industry to share success stories to encourage a culture of collaboration.
