Chris Chung is the Head of Digital Innovation and Strategic Development with Lloyd’s Register. Based in Singapore, Chris oversees projects that identify and develop solutions to pressing client and societal challenges where technology and innovation can have a transformative role.
A strong believer in partnerships and open innovation, Chris’ team brings together technologists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, policy makers, researchers, and other change agents to uncover and implement solutions to specific, actionable challenges. Focus areas include robotics and autonomous systems, remote presence, metallic additive manufacturing, connected assets and data analytics.
Before joining LR, Chris held a number of technology leadership roles with cross-sector experience in Marine, Offshore Oil and Gas, Utilities, Telecoms and Consumer Electronics; lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Australia, China, Malaysia and Singapore.
Chris is currently serving in the Technology Advisory Board of Singapore Maritime Institute, Australia’s Industrial Transformation Offshore Research Hub, SPRING Singapore and A*STAR Additive Manufacturing advisory panel. He is also a Lloyd’s Register Ambassador to Singapore, with regular engagements with regional governments and key clients; establishing partnerships, sharing best practices, facilitating introductions and promoting common challenges.
