Mr. Shahid Sumar is currently heading the Technology Division of Albaraka Bank Pakistan having 170+ branches and ATMs across Pakistan. He has recent track record of various digital banking and technology operations related initiatives to transform the banking services for customers and to improve operational efficiencies through digitalization of internal processes of the Bank. He holds degree in Computer Science with majors in Software Engineering from SZABIST and has 25 years of experience in the field of Information Technology within the Banking Industry. Besides he has attended many IT forums, IT seminars and technology workshops held locally and internationally in US, UK, Japan, Dubai, Malaysia, Bahrain and China. Mr. Sumar started his career in 1998 and has worked in number of local and foreign banks including Mashreq Bank Pakistan, SAMBA Bank and Summit Bank. He has joined Albaraka Bank Pakistan in May, 2018. He has successfully achieved many technology mergers of commercial banks throughout his career and has extensive experience of local and international core-banking systems, overall technology operations and digital platforms.
