I've seen firsthand how a change in the monetary system can change people's lives. Issuing money into an economy interest-free and inclusively can have a profound effect on how people value things and how they shift from competing to get what they need, to cooperating and sharing.
Although I've been active in the field of Community and Complementary Currencies since 1991 with experience in a wide variety of alternative currencies, from local community development projects in SE Asia, Africa and Latin America, to Digital Currencies in Asia, North America and Europe, I believe in engaging with people who are new to the ideas I've been working on for so long. This is why I continue to stay close to the edge of innovation, constantly educating myself on the latest developments in money and payments systems ideas and technologies.
