Preetesh Sewraj, CEO & Chief Innovation Analyst, Product of the Year

Preetesh Sewraj is the CEO & Chief Innovation Analyst of Product of the Year in South Africa, and was instrumental in bringing this consumer-voted for award for innovation to this country.
 
With a background in consumer products, having worked at Proctor & Gamble and Reckitt Benckiser, Sewraj became passionate about brand experimentation, and developed a lively curiosity about the origins of products. This passion and curiosity spurred him to negotiate with the European owners of Product of the Year to develop the initiative locally.
 
Product of the Year allows consumers to pick the products that they believe have made a difference in their lives, highlighting those items with the combination of innovation, delivery on their promise and value for money. In this way, Sewraj believes his organisation is benefiting consumers by making them aware of the products that will make a real difference in their lives, and to push back against the poor products in circulation.
 
Heading up Product of the Year, Sewraj has unique insights into the nexus between the South African consumer market and global trends in innovation.
 
Sewraj holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and has augmented his qualifications with numerous marketing, communications and management courses.
