Zimbabwean born Perseus is the CEO and co-founder of Zazu - a new smartphone-based bank for Africa’s future. He previously worked in the Ethics Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva, Riders for Health and Barclays Wealth.
Perseus believes that if Africa is to create sustainable wealth and if people are going to self-finance out of hardships, then financial services need to reach the masses. The CEO of the challenger bank believes that financial service providers need to rely on technology to increase financial literacy and remove the complexities in getting people banked.
Before launching, Zazu has already been named one of the Top 50 Global Digital Banks and Perseus tells me they are building an affordable and accessible product that will delight users. Perseus has spoken at the European Commission on how inclusive digital technologies are the key to unlocking Africa’s potential.
