Mr Terry O' Conner | CEO Courts
Terry O’Connor, CEO of Courts Asia, the largest retailer of consumer electronics and home furnishings in the Southeast Asia region, hailed from Liverpool, England and started his career in with Colorvision PLC, rising to the post of Buying Director at 23.
In 1993, Terry joined Courts Singapore as Buying Director (1993 to 1997), Commercial Director (1997 to 1998) and Deputy Managing Director (1998 to 2000) before becoming its Managing Director in 2000. In 2007, after the buyout of Courts operations in Southeast Asia, Terry assumed the role of CEO for Courts in Asia.
Previously, Terry was President of the British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham) from 2006 to 2010 and President of The British Club from 1999 to 2002. Currently, he is President of the Institute of Advertising, Singapore and Regional Communications Chair of Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO).
Additionally, Terry is also a regular commentator on retail issues in the region. He and his wife has also been actively involved in many charitable causes.
Terry holds a Master of Business Administration in Retailing and Wholesaling from the University of Stirling. He is married to Janice and they have two lovely children, Daniel 18 and Jennifer 15.
Terry was conferred the award of Officer of the Most Excellence Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty The Queen of England in June 2010.
