Taiwo Adeniji is currently Senior Director, Investments Group at the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), a multilateral specialist infrastructure financing institution headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, where he has responsibility for the institution’s power investments, among others. Taiwo has had over 24 years of post-graduate and extensive professional and managerial experience in several areas of banking and finance. He has deep knowledge and extensive experience with infrastructure policy issues, as well as the analysis, evaluation and financing of infrastructure projects, and has managed the financing of power investments in several countries in Africa. Over the last seven years, Taiwo has led the efforts at providing financial advisory and structuring services for AFC’s power investments, including supervising the management of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s US$2 billion Power Intervention Fund in Nigeria. Recent transactions included the award-winning US$900million Kpone IPP Project in Ghana, where he headed the debt arranging team that successfully arranged total debt facilities of US$650million for the implementation of the project. During the previous thirteen years (1994 - 2007) Taiwo worked with the African Development Bank (ADB), focussing largely on infrastructure investments.
Taiwo’s academic background is in economics and finance. He is a Honorary Senior Member (HCIB) of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
