Ms. Galetlolwe Semenya: Public Private Partnership Railway  Project Management

I am an avid believer in the value of public transport and have built my career in the Railway industry over 11 years. Subsequently I have gained railway knowledge, technical experience and its corporate financial understanding.
My career started in Transnet Freight Rail in 2004 as a female engineering technologist, where I grew up the ranks to ultimately develop business cases to upgrade and/or sustain Rail Infrastructure to create capacity to shift freight from road to rail.
I am currently part of a team managing the biggest  PPP programme of designing, manufacturing, testing and delivering new passenger trains in South Africa. I am also a specialist in planning and executing a HAZOP study for new rail technology being introduced in an operating environment.  I have graduated with a Master’s degree in 2015 with Wits University and the title of my research report is “Critical success factors for Rail infrastructure Public Private Partnership Projects in South Africa” .
