The African Water Association (AfWA) formerly Union of African Water Suppliers (UAWS) was created in February 1980 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
Guided by the desire to promote the drinking water, sanitation and environment sector in the interest of African populations, the managers of organisms, corporations or enterprises working in the sector of drinking water, sanitation and environment established a professional association.
The AfWA Head office is based in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
