Maria Carmela Vertido graduated from the University of the Philippines, Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Mathematics in 2004. As the interest and opportunity in the area of online learning increased, she decided to do her Master in Distance Education in the University of the Philippines Open University in 2009, where she did a capstone project entitled Development of a Blended Learning Elective Course within a Traditional High School Set-up. She is currently enrolled in the Educational Leadership and Management Doctoral Program of the De La Salle University, Manila. Maria Carmela's work experience includes being a classroom teacher in Math, Science, Religion and Philosophy, working as a student activities coordinator, and serving as an educational administrator. Presently, she is the Junior High School Principal of PAREF Woodrose in Muntinlupa, where she also finished her secondary education. She regularly does volunteer work in rural schools and less privileged communities in Metro Manila.
