Joyce Sendeckyj, Head of Library and Information Services, Kilbreda College

Joyce is currently Head of Library and Information Services at Kilbreda College, Mentone with a career in libraries spanning over 25 years in primary, secondary, tertiary education; including experience in special libraries such as the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Joyce holds the BA in Information Science (Librarianship) and most recently the Master of Teaching, Secondary Education with major foci in Literacy and ICT. The discussion will follow the development of junior secondary reading programs in the context of two specific and very different settings, using tools and programs designed to motivate, educate and engage students with elements of ‘gamification’.The session will welcome questions and feedback of ideas from other school educators.
