Kim Vernon, Curriculum Mentor, Digital Technologies, Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority

Kim Vernon is currently a curriculum mentor for the digital technologies curriculum with ACARA (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority). She spent 10 years living in Singapore guiding international schools on digital technology and consulting with the Singapore Ministry of Education on the implementation of coding into local preschools through the playmaker program.  She has 18 Years teaching experience in the field of Early Childhood and 14 years specialising in ICT education. Originally from Sydney, Kim has gained valuable experience in the UK, Australia and S.E. Asia. Kim is a co- moderator of the twitter ed-chat #asiaED. The goals of #asiaED are simple, to give educators a space to express an unbiased response to questions about education within the Asia region.  Kim is part of the Apple Consultant network, is a Google Certified Teacher and has a Master of Education in Technology. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills by speaking at regional and international conferences. Kim is passionate about change in the area of technology with a focus on pedagogy and curriculum integration support. She is an advocate for the youngest learner and believes with solid foundations, young learners can thrive in their digital world.
