Alison Ford, Counsellor, Dover Court International School

Alison is currently based at Dover Court International School, Singapore where she leads a busy SEN department supporting children ages 3-18 years within an inclusive mainstream environment. Her role involves curriculum and policy development, alongside leadership of a diverse team of professionals including SEN trained teachers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and educational psychology. Before moving into teaching, Alison was an assistant psychologist and worked in a variety of settings such as special and mainstream schools, child and adolescent mental health units and respite centres for children with wide-ranging needs. She is a passionate advocate for inclusive education, particularly in an international setting, and believes every child has the right to access a holistic education which focuses on developing the whole self.
