Ellie is CEO of Nomosphere, a wireless network operator based in Johannesburg that delivers value-added services over telecommunications networks, and co-founder of customer intelligence and one-to-one analytics company Viento. She also serves as Chairperson of the Wireless Access Providers’ Association of South Africa (WAPA).
Her specific areas of interest and expertise are strategy, product management, communications, value chain optimisation, and systems design, skills which she brings to bear in designing products and services that solve customer problems, and bridge the gap between what technology can enable and what businesses want to achieve in their customer relations.
She has spoken at a variety of international telecommunications conferences including the Wireless Broadband Alliance Global Congress in Beijing, China; Africacom in Cape Town; and a TV White Spaces conference in Dakar, Senegal.
American by birth, Ellie has over ten years of experience in software, ranging from the large consumer-facing web site ask.com (where she was employee #15) to white label solutions to enterprise software. Ellie holds an MBA in entrepreneurship from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts (ranked number one in the USA for entrepreneurship for 21 consecutive years by U.S. News and World Report).
