Mr. Parag Rao has a B.E. (Electrical Engineering) and Masters in Management Studies with specialization in marketing. Mr. Rao has a diverse experience of 19 years in sales, distribution and marketing in the fast-moving consumer goods and retail banking industry. Mr. Rao has been associated with HDFC Bank since April 2002. He is currently Executive Vice President, responsible for (a) product and portfolio Strategy for the bank’s credit issuance portfolio and merchant acquiring business, and (b) Customer Service Delivery for the issuance portfolio. His role is therefore responsible for delivery on business profitability, market share growth and all regulatory and customer compliance related matters. He joined the card issuance business at its inception as National Sales Head. In this role he had set up the entire distribution network across multiple channels. In his retail banking experience, his experience covers product and portfolio management, the regulatory and compliance matters impacting the credit card business, managing franchisee relationships, developing the commercial card business and also building the insurance vertical for incremental revenues. Over the years spent by Mr. Rao in the banking industry, he has developed a vast knowledge of technology trends, credit behavior impacting the cards industry and also exploring revenue opportunities and profitability through cost efficiency.
