John Ryan has 25 years professional experience in the management of aviation, real estate, retail and hospitality related industries. John has been working with Fraport AG for over 15years, initially at the home base in Frankfurt, Germany, where he was responsible for financial controlling in the real estate and property management department, before embarking on an international career with Fraport. 

In 2006, Fraport AG, together with its Indian partners, was the successful bidder for the airport privatisation of Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. John spent 5 years in Delhi, setting up the operational and financial systems for the new airport development. This included an investment of approx. USD 2.5bn to develop the new 35 million PAX Terminal 3, runway and airside facilities, which was successfully opened in 2010. 

Fraport transferred John to Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2011,  as Director of Finance and Business Processes at King Abdulaziz International Airport. Between 2008 and 2014, Fraport provided management services to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). John was responsible for the Finance, Procurement and Logistics departments.

Since July 2014, John has been based in Dakar, Senegal as Director of Finance, IT & Telecommunications. Fraport AG won the concession for the new airport Aéroport International Blaise Diagne and are currently preparing the transfer of operations from the existing airport Aéroport International Léopold Sédar Senghor to the new.
